Hey,

So I am looking for an external SSD that I can use to transfer in/out whether plugged into my PC or Mac. I thought it would be an easy one but then I see that it needs to be formatted a specific way to work on both.

Formatting should not be an issue but, I just wanted to check whether all devices are the same in that regard or whether I should look at a certain type of external device? Maybe some don't work as well with both operating systems for whatever reason?

I was thinking about a Samsung T-5 at this moment.

Appreciate any guidance.

A Samsung T5 should be fine. I have two of them that I use for backup that are formatted to APFS, however, they can be formatted to work with both macOS and Windows. Probably exFAT would be good to use.

Thanks, indeed, exFAT seems to be the solution which is fine, just had a niggling feeling that some devices may be better suited to that than others, no idea why, probably just suspicious :)
