Hello,
since I use MacOs Sonoma my 500GB SSD-disk does show up after like 8min.
There should be nothing wrong with the disk because it worked perfectly on macOS Monterey.
Can someone please help me?

Year and model of your Mac? External drive make and model number? Connected using USB? Help us, help you.

And do you leave it connected or do you remove it and connect the drive to other computers?

What's the format of the disk? exfat? I have an exfat disk that runs a full disk check every time I connect it, maybe yours the same.

Disk Utilities is for managing and formatting(!) disks, so don't do anything stupid. :p
You can use it just to get info by clicking on the drive(s) on the left.

Another "Fishrrman stupid question":

Can you try a DIFFERENT USB connecting cable?

@Therare Would be helpful to answer question regarding the format of the disk.

Update: Ha! Our posts crossed paths! Sounds like your issue is the same as @galad.

"Its ExFAT"

Is there a particular reason this drive has to be in that format?

If it's primarily used as "a Mac drive", it should be in a Mac format.
I would recommend HFS+ (in disk utility, it's called "Mac OS extended, journaling enabled, GUID partition format).

If you use the drive to share between the Mac and PC's, consider using a USB flashdrive instead.

Reformat the SSD to HFS+ (you can use APFS as well, but I still prefer HFS+), and I predict it will run much better.
