Hi all,
While connecting directly to MacBook M1's thunderbolt port via a thunderbolt 3 cable, the speed is around 670M/s, considering my cheap SSD enclosure, I'm happy with it.
However, I've tested external SSD read/write speed with Dell DA300 and Anker PowerExpand 8-in-1 USB-C PD 10Gbps Data Hub, both of them support USB 3.0 Gen 2 (10Gbps) via USB C and USB A ports. The speed I really get, tested multiple times, is only around 110-130MB/s, which is not even close to USB 3.0 Gen 1 speed.
Anyone else is getting the same issue? Would Apple fix it in the future?
