Hi

Is there a way to get my external TB3 NVME SSD bootable on High Sierra or Mojave , it's discovered on the system but i couldn't boot from it after installing MACOS High sierra or Mojave on it.

Your help would be appreciated .
My Computer is iMac MID 2017 27" 1TB Fusion Drive ( 27 GB Blade SSD )
External NVME SSD is
HP P800 256GB Portable External Thunderbolt 3 PCIe NVMe SSD 3SS19AA#ABC

My External boot very slow using western digital(mojave issue only).

Try boot first without attach the ssd.
Then put the ssd and change the disk startup System Preferences :: Startup Disk. Click at the your nvme disk and try restart.. As i remember i don't format anything file system, i just install to new external ssd only.

Thanks , still not working , i got the message : yoy can't use this disck to boot in startup management
