External thunderbolt stopped working after 12.1 update

LG Ultrafine worked great via a direct Thunderbolt cable on my MBP M1Pro until I took the update this morning.

The MBP doesn't appear to recognize that there's an external display attached. I've tried shuffling the USB C ports and cables.

While I can get it to work via HDMI, the new cables are in the way and it looks like I need to run a full calibration. Am I missing something?

I was not. I'm not running via HDMI, but the visual quality has taken a definite hit.
