Ok, so after a night of brainstorming here is my idea:
connect a touchscreen LCD to my Macbook and and a battery pack in order to annotate pdfs and take notes in class.

LCD:
XENARC 700TSV
http://www.xenarc.com/product/700ts.html

Power supply (??? Please help--would these work???):

or

???
How much power will the LCD consume? I would like it to run as long as the Macbook, ie. 2-3+ hours ideally...

I am thinking I could leave the MB in my backpack and just run the USB, vga, and power cable (bundled together) to the LCD on my desk...

Among the biggest isses, though, is what is a rechargable power source for the LCD? Is this idea just crazy??... I hate the thought of succombing to a UMPC and I don't have enough $$ for a nice Tablet...

I also have a Pepperpad3 on order, so I am evaluating that as a perhaps viable option too. I am a Microbiology major, hence lots of handwritten diagrams and the need to archive my work if possible. Thanks for any input!!
