I have an ANKER USB-C to USB Type A hub. Been using it for a year on Windows laptops without any issues. I just got this iMac 24 recently and sometime when I turn it on I don't see the external Samsung T5 Portable SSD that I have connected until I unplug the cable that connects to the hub. then replug-it in

Anyone else faced this issue? Perhaps its the hub or is this a known issue?

Is the hub powered (with its own power supply) or not (i.e., "bus-powered")?

If it's a powered hub, an admittedly-clumsy workaround might be to unplug the hub's power connector, and re-plug it. WHY? To save wear-and-tear on the t5's USB connector...

negative, it doesn't need external power

It's an Anker USB Type-C to Type-A hub

Just connected the external SSD directly to the SUB Type-C port and rebooted. Now it appears right away without needing to unplug it then replug it in so it was indeed the hub. Strange this doesn't happen on my Windows laptop though very annoying how macOS deals with these external devices/hubs
