Hello, i'm considering a 15" MBP 2.0 GHz 1Gb RAM 100GB HD and 256Mb VRAM. Now on apple's Refurb store and after TAX my choice comes out to $2,164.99. not too bad right? well on Amazon.com the same machine sells for $2,249.99 after rebate(i dont mind waiting). My question is is it worth it to go new? i've heard that some people get refurbs that are scratched and/or have signs of use. Yet sometimes they arrive with unnexpected upgrades in RAM, or Hard Drives. PLease tell me your opinion.

If you're spending that much already, I would probably go with a new. Just because... it's new. Refurbs do tend to have some scratches or flaws -- remember, people returned them for a reason.

Usually I support refurbs, but the price difference is too small. Don't bet on a "miracle upgrade" with a refurb- they happen, but you never know what you'll get.

New one of course if that the price difference. Refurb doesnt come with the retail box, and you have the sticker on the bottom. So if you ever sell it you will lose more then $100. Probably lose $200+ trying to sell a refurb then retail box one.
