extra monitor through easycap

Would this work;?
mini displayport to vga (from apple website)
computer to tv adapter. (look it up on amazon if you don't know what i am talking about)
then s-video to an easycap or non-lag video device (like a tv tuner with a video input)
to add a 2nd monitor with my laptop, dell xps m1330 1.8ghz 120gb hd, vista buissness. even though im a high school student.
