Hi all,

I have a few questions.... My iMac (2013) died on a Video-card problem (maybe I will repair it, I still don't know for the moment)

So I bought me a new one (see my sig.) but I like to add more Ram and because I have now a big hole in my pocket... I want to know what solutions or possibilitys I have for adding more ram etc.

1, Is Crucial still that good for ram?

2, I want to add only 16GB x 1 for this moment and leave 1 memory slot free for the future.... is this a problem?

3, Can I use mixed ram?

4, Will the above give me a lost in memory or work speed?

Kind regards and thank you.

I bought the same machine except for an ssd hd, added 16 gig/OWC. Being an entry level computer, I highly doubt anymore than 24 gigs will do any good. It is always recommended to split the ram in equal parts. 2/8 16. Even if you do need more, add it later. I realize you are trying to budget the added cost down the road.

Thx rjeddoaks,

I think that I go for the 8GB x 2... not 100% sure yet... think, damn ;)

Regards,
