Ok so here what I want to do and hopefully you guys can tell me if it's possible or not?

I want to restore my iPhone and set it up as a new device with 3.0, the only thing stopping me is I have some apps with saved game data I'd like to keep.

I know if I restore from back-up, it will put my saved data back on, but I don't want to do that. I only want like one apps saved data to come over with me to the new restore (not the whole back-up because it has some issues).

So is there a way to SSH into my iPhone (yes I can jailbreak it) and grab out/save individual files of apps for saved data, that I can re-put back into my device after the restore and keep the current game/history of the app I am trying to bring over without having to restore from back-up?

Thanks

SSH into your phone and navigate to /private/var/mobile/Applications. Each application has a folder called "Documents" which has the save game for the app.

Oh cool, thanks. I see some have files/saved stuff in that documents folder. Although some apps having nothing in them (like the only one I want to keep :()

Do some apps not save things to this folder? Is it just up to the way the dev programed saved files?

Like Trism is the example game I am trying to keep, I have a pretty high score that I don't want to lose, but there is nothing in the Documents folder, but the folder says it is 68 B. So I'm not sure why it's empty.

Most of my other games still have their save files in the Documents folder though, thank you for that. I'm thinking I am just S.O.L. on this one :(

If you have your phone Jailbroken there is a program called appbackup in Cydia which will backup individual files to a backup folder and you can then SSH the folder out of the phone. I have used this on a few apps which I wanted the data backed-up.

Ok I can try that. Where is the aptbackup backup folder located?

And will it work will Trism that I got from the app store? I though aptbackup was for cydia apps only no?

Not aptbackup appbackup they are two different programs. The backup location is /private/var/mobile/Library/AppBackup/tarballs and it should be able to backup and restore any non-cydia app. So far it has worked for me.
