I know something is wrong, but I don't know what it is! My screen has a blueish tint and I can't work or anything since I don't actually know how the colors will come out. Do I also have to do additional changes in photoshop?

I attached a zip file with 2 files, the 1 that has 2 on the end doesnt have the blue tint, but on adium when i get a msg its purple here
5ya2om
and i think its suppose to be blue.

# 3 has the blue tint but it seems like the adium is more blue than purple  what am i doin wrong

Your attached files are monitor icc profiles, not photo files.
Profiles created for your monitor are not going to be effective on another monitor. Reset your monitor to default settings and re-calibrate with a gamma of 2.2 and 6500K. The only adjustment you should be making to the monitor is backlight.

Still having problems..even with my external monitor :(

here you can clearly see the blue selected is 0,0,255.. The blue is the color that changed the color of the bar in adium. but if you look at the bar where it says "Miranda Merged" the 0,0,255 blue changes to 114,0,255..where does the 114 red come from??? this is the kinda purple shift I'm seeing on all my 0,0,255 blues. The problem is it doesn't happen in all my programs so I'm very confused. What is also confusing is that its just affecting my blues. I uninstalled Eye One Match like how it says to uninstall any measurement device software in the CG241W manual..but is there anything else I should be uninstalling? disabling?

I've tried Eye One Match and ColorNavigator.. very confused :(

Blue purple tint,

Hi, did you manage to sort this problem out? Ive had the same issues with both my macbook prop and external cinema display. I think the problem might lie with where your profiles are being stored. Im trying to sort this out right now and will let you know how I get on. Where are your profiles stored right now? Do a search and make sure they are not stored on several locations!

:apple:;)

If the colours are off try re-calibrate your monitor. Open System Prefs go to Displays click on the Colour Tab and then click on Calibrate. When the window opens turn Expert Mode on. Now, just follow the on screen instructions and you should have a perfectly calibrated monitor in no time. Make sure you use the native White Point settings, and usually use the native Gamma also (personally I don't, but when trying to figure out issues I would)

One other thing, if you post screen shots from your computer they will show up normal to us, since it is specific to your monitor. If you point to an colour on your screen saying "look its this colour but should be this one" we (unless we have exactly the same monitor calibration issue) will see the image with the correct colour. The only way to show us would be to take a picture with a camera of your screen.
