I was thinking about getting an Eye TV 2 does anyone know how this thing works I am confused by this whole wireless TV signal, can someone please explain and tell me how well it works and the range that it works.

I know a couple people who have it and love it, but i have never personally used it or know how it works. I just know they love it!

None of the Elgato (or Miglia) products are wireless - you need to connect a cable and/or antenna to them. Typically you'd connect a cable to them as you would to a TV. They then connect to your Mac and act as a tuner. The software (eyetv2) allows you to control the device, record shows, schedule recordings, etc.

Go for it, IMO EyeTV is like one of the top "killer apps" for MacOS that I can think of.

Do they make any products that can recieve HDTV shows? Also...it says something about unencrypted digital channels...huh?

These DTT devices are for use within countries that use the DVB broadcasting system (Europe/Asia). The States, along with Canada, use a system called ATSC therefore these DVB Digital Terrestrial products won’t work. The analogue cable/terrestrial tuners should, however.
