It will work with 3G and EDGE:
"It works best with the TV on the iPhone when using the wireless network. 3G and EDGE get the picture to be grainy."

Just an fyi, EyeTV has a built-in webserver for the video it contains for watching on the iPhone on your LAN. A quick firewall port-forwarding rule to forward to it makes all of your video available to stream to the phone outside of your home, but via a webpage instead of an app. So if you don't want to wait, you can already do it, this is just a specific app for it. Neat though

I think this new software would be for live TV though.

I would hope that it works a bit better than the existing method (for EyeTV recorded content)… right now (in my esperience) it is a bit of a hit and miss affair.

Ahh. I haven't tried it in quite a while; I first set it up about 2 years ago on my first gen iPhone; I don't think I've tried it since the first "oh cool, it works" moment, hehe.
