F.lux--night shift

Haven't been here in a while and couldn't find a recent thread on this app for Mac? My wife mentioned this to me but I'm not sure if this is available for Mac as of yet, or if I need to download it direct from the f.lux website?

Can some of you shed some light for me (no pun inteneded..lol) and if you are using it, how effective it is? Any issues shutting down the app, etc?

f.lux is available. You're not going to get it through the App Store, though, so download it directly from f.lux themselves.

It's been running fine for me.

One key feature that f.lux has over Night Shift is the ability to quickly disable f.lux for a particular app. For example, I don't like f.lux changing the screen color when I'm using Photos, so I used its menubar control, which has (I belive), Disable... -> ...for Photos.

Also, flux has gradual transitions. NS is much more abrupt.
