It fixed the bug that I had. The FB app used to crash when I used to scroll to the bottom of my friends list.

The cynic in me assumes they had the bug fix in before 3.0 was even out...

Like the developer said, they only can test with 100 users because of the app restrictions by Apple. So most of the bugs didn't crop up until release. Several of them seemed to only affect international users so I doubt they submitted the bug fix before the 3.0 release. My guess is they fast tracked it because it was Facebook. Since it is the most popular app on the iPhone it is important that the app be stable for Apple's sake as well.

is it just me, or can we not view videos in the app on the iphone?
i swear i was able to in 3.0, but now in 3.0.1, i can't!

anyone else having this issue?

There was only one video I tried to view with 3.0, and I got a message something to the effect of "viewing of facebook video on the iPhone currently does not work, but we are working on it". Haven't tried in 3.01, but I am pretty sure is is the same.

yup...I hope they do address the ability to view a video on facebook...because I know there are several I'm tagged in, that friend posted...and I want to make sure there is nothing on them that my co-workers shouldn't see. I'd love the ability to untag myself. lol...

Funny that this update is supposed to fix a bug that I did not have in 3.0 but now have in 3.0.1. So .. it fixed it for some while causing it to others? :)

There was apparently a big privacy bug where when you posted status updates, even people who shouldn't be able to see your updates would be able to see them. I think there were issues reported with birthdays too, and such, but that was the big issue I think as far as 3.0.1.

So how did this update get pushed so fast when 3.0 took 12 days to get accepted? Yes this is just an update but 3.0 was an update to 2.5 technically. I can see if because of the whole privacy issue it got released quicker and I'm certainly not complaining but I wonder how this got pushed and accepted so quickly compared to 3.0.

Also fyi for those that had it, the notifications error was a server-side issue that got fixed earlier today.
