Hi, I have been looking at MacBook Pro mods and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is software that instead of things like fingerprint readers, use the iSight camera to read your face and give you access to things the same way a finger scanner would?

Thanks,
Chris

that would be amazing if someone could make software for face scanning security!

i guess iAlertU is the closest to that so far, except it captures the intruder's face :D

It isn't that amazing. You could probably hold a photo infront of it to trick it.

Yes there was an article on Engadget about this, they tried it with a photo and it worked. So its not such a good choice of security.

I bet it's possible in theory, just like the fact that fingerprint readers can also be tricked with a reconstructed print ;) (Though not all of them)
