Face detection?

Hi, I have been looking at MacBook Pro mods and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is software that instead of things like fingerprint readers, use the iSight camera to read your face and give you access to things the same way a finger scanner would?

i guess iAlertU is the closest to that so far, except it captures the intruder's face

The newer Lenovo laptops have this technology. I think it's available on their consumer-oriented lines.

Yes there was an article on Engadget about this, they tried it with a photo and it worked. So its not such a good choice of security.

That review at the top says they tried a photo and it didn't work.. seems pretty flawless.

It isn't that amazing. You could probably hold a photo infront of it to trick it.

I bet it's possible in theory, just like the fact that fingerprint readers can also be tricked with a reconstructed print (Though not all of them)

There's already software out there (or at least the SDK's).
