Face ID iPhone X help

If I power off my phone and then restart it, my Face ID doesn't work. I required to put in the pass code. Does this happen to anyone else? It works fine afterward - It's only after I shut down the unit.

That's normal. After every reboot, you are always required to put your passcode in one time to re-enable Face ID. Same with Touch ID on iPhones that have it.
