Face ID problem ?

I have a brand new iPhone 14 Pro Max, currently running iOS 16.4.1

Face ID works fine with unlocking the phone and even in the dark, but it doesn’t work when I try to download an app from the App Store. Always tells me that it doesn’t recognize my face and asks me to enter my Apple ID password every time, which is quite annoying.

Any tips on how to fix this issue ?

In settings/FaceID & Passcode do you have iTunes & App store enabled?

You mean this option ? Yeah it’s turned on.

Not really sure if I should be reseting my Face ID or something, because it seems to work fine with everything except for the App Store.

Yes that's the setting. Not sure why it wouldn't work. By the way, even after FaceID confirms my identity, I still have to double click the side button to initiate the download. You might try erasing/resetting FaceID again to see if it helps
