FACE ID turned off with 11.2.5?

Just realized why several apps quit using FACE ID to open: FID is toggled off in Settings, but I did not do that.

After the 11.2.5 download, I began to notice a couple apps previously using FID were not allowing access with it. I thought they just needed to update.

Tonight, however, I checked Settings and found FID toggled off. A flip to toggle on takes me to set new six-digit passcode, but I figure I will wait til daylight to deal with that, especially if I have to set up FID again.

And here I thought FID to unlock screen was operating flawlessly since 11.2.5.

Setting up faceid in the dark shouldn’t be problem as it’s using infrared light.

so true! I think I was more referring to my then bleary-eyed lazy factor.
