My Facebook app refreshes all the time. Sometimes I can use just one single app other app or even come back to my phone after an hour straight back into Facebook and the app itself will refresh all the content. This makes me lose what ever I was reading or if I went to another app to get a photo or link and then go back to upload it as a comment on Facebook I've lost that thread I was relying to.

Very annoying I thought it was just my 7 and it's low amount of ram. But the same thing happens on my X too. Does this happen to anyone else? I've googled and can't find anything.

Same thing here, on 8+, but it’s more random!

it doesn't seem to also matter if background app refresh is on or off as well. It will still refresh when you go back into the app and "start" a new session so you lose your place, be it in an article you were reading or a comment thread.

My case is different.
It will refresh only if I’m on the home page, my diary, scrolling news and contacts.
If I’m reading an article or just answering to a post, it will “remember” its position and don’t refresh itself.

This has been happening for quite some time and it’s very annoying. I can’t believe Facebook has not fixed the issue. Basically makes the app almost unusable.

Is Facebook ok generally on iPhone now? I have the app on my iPad, but uninstalled on my iPhone due to battery issues. I just use the website but often miss notifications because of that.

happens on the web version also - I guess Facebook thinks it knows more about what you want to read than you do

Yes sir! It’s to the point where I need to find a link, I have to copy what I wrote and then find the link because I am sure it will be gone, i come back 10 seconds later with the link or image, and the app refreshed and now I have to search for the content, scroll for it (since it isn’t at the top anymore...) and now post it. A 10 second post turned to 2 minutes.

So true. They think they know better but wouldn't they(facebook, google, apple , AI) learn more if we were allowed to follow our own path rather then be coerced only for marketing. With all the tech out there I feel there is less control and options then just a few years ago.
