Not sure what the developer is doing. I can only assume they have no quality process in place. Each update makes the app less stable

Still can't do the basics....like posting a photo on a wall, commenting on photos or updating status. Deleted and reinstalled many times, no change

A little harsh there aren't you Pete?

I read where the original developer moved on, perhaps they need your skills to improve the app? Or are you merely a critic?

Millions of iPhone users are using this app daily. Sure it lacks a few features, however it is adequate...but FAIL?

Does everything I want it to do. I also rarely have it crash.

Maybe you should try a restore on your phone and try again.

ive never had it crash. i dont get any sound notifications, but its not a deal breaker! I cant post pictures to other peoples walls, but i can post pics to my own wall. and i have no problems commenting on anyones pictures or walls.

The app lies dormant on homescreen #10. :D
I've gone back to using the web app, or touchscreen mobile site, and IMO, it has a much better homescreen icon.

I've only had problems with the Facebook app on my iPhone when it was jailbroken. I had something called pushfix installed and that just completely messed up my facebook notifications. Even when I restored my iPhone I had the same problem so I had to set up my iPhone "as a new phone" and the facebook app now works flawlessly. The notifications work really well.

I have hardly any problems with it. Apart from the occasional crash, which happens to alot of the apps on my iPhone these days anyway so I don't think too much of it.

Just be glad it's not like the BlackBerry Facebook app. Funtional, but a pain in the ass and too bloody slow.

I've never had any problems with it either. And I agree with some of the others, to say it's a FAIL is over the top. And the amount of people who say =FAIL is getting truly annoying.

It's sad the original developer left to concentrate on other platforms as he did seem to push the updates through consistently and was quick to remedy any bugs. Since he left the frequency of updates has decreased significantly...:(

It does a job, to be honest I have my MacBook when out and about to post images up when I'm having lunch, or my pc when I am home.

Often if I am out and about I am too busy to be posting up images of what I am doing. ;)

Funny thing. The app does not crash on my 3GS but on my 1st gen iPt, it crashes each time i try to open my profile.

The push has worked only once for me, but then I don't care to get updated on Facebook all the time. Might actually be a blessing.

The only two features I want are the ability to turn an facebook app off from my iPhone. I've gotten two pages of purely Mafia wars updates, and I neither play nor care to get updated on what my friends are doing there. Recently other facebook apps are getting more common, and I don't get to an actual computer often.

The other is a fix for the profile pics. I've got pics of complete strangers attached to some of my contacts.

Otherwise, the app works fine for my needs. I'm not a huge facebook user, so just reading updates, confirming new friends, commenting on updates, and posting the occassional pic are all I do there.

Yes I am merely a critic.....Not sure where I stated I was an expert and that they needed my skills to improve the app. Stated my opinion that the app has gotten worse(for me at least) with every update.

Does the app do somethings? Yes, but basic things that it use to be able to do it doesn't do (for me at least) any longer

Critics are needed to improve stuff, where would we be if we didn't decide this was better than that? Tactful critics more often get the ear of those trying to sell their products or keep their job though. They're just more pleasant to listen to, as opposed to 'this product sucks!', which offers not a whole lot helpful info in terms of improving a product. Neither does just giving bad publicity help them improve either.

I've been using the FB app since about July or maybe August 2009, at least a couple times every day. I have had absolutely zero issues with it until this current version, and then I have only had it freeze on me a few times when playing Mafia Wars. I exit the app and go back in, and it's just fine.

Think its time we Close threads that have =Fail in the title especially when its something like this my Facbeook has been fine.

Be thankful, us on the Nexus One have an awful Facebook app. Much worse than the iPhone even!

Most of the problems with the app are issues that can be fixed on the server size. My guess it the percentage of users that are affected by some of these issues are so small that it is hard to track down the problem.
