Facebook app not holding my place in the news feed anymore

Has anyone noticed this? The last version held your spot in the news feed, where if you closed the app and reopened it it would be right where you left off. After updating to the latest version it no longer does this, it goes straight to the most recent post and you have to scroll backwards. Very annoying.

It worked before the update but after uninstalling and reinstalling the old one again it doesn't.

It was pretty much always on and off for me so I never really relied on or expected it to work.
