I got the iPhone 3GS yesterday and everything is working fine except the facebook app. It doesn't notify me of anything, no alerts appear.. nothing. I'd have to go into the facebook app and only then i'd see an update.
All push applications in Settings for facebook are turned on.
How do i get my updates?

I have this same issue, it's very annoying.

Like the OP, push notifications are turned on in settings but its only when I open the app that I see any alerts!

Anyone willing to offer up any tips?

The facebook app is notoriously sketchy when it comes to push notifications.

If it's really important that you reply to FB notifications straight away, might I suggest that you set up a push email account with the relevant email alerts enabled in FB?

My facebook is synched with my gmail account, i'm sure push is enabled. Put it this way notfication for all my other apps are pushed through fine:confused:

Its not so much that I need to respond to alerts as soon as...It would just be nice to be alerted that something is waiting to be read; rather than opening the app to check.

For example, I can open the app, see that there is a message of some sort; if I then back out of facebook, then I see a badge alert! which is now obviously pointless.
