On my Note 7 I have every place I can find to stop sounds for every facebook notifications and still won't stop? I have every option within the app set to no noise, and it still does it lol.

Untick play sounds on incoming notifications

You could also turn off the switch in the blue header that say Notifications. This will turn off all the notifications although the TouchWiz built in notification count on the app icon would still be updated with this setting switched to off.

Now they are trying to stop people from logging on via Chrome on mobile (or at least make it harder in some respects).

It will show you an icon on the app for all notifications you receive on Facebook, messages would be different as those are now exclusively handled by Facebook messenger.
