Facebook chat: did we ever find out why it went "poof?"

Why did Facebook chat work the first couple of days, then stop? Anyone ever figure it out?

Yeah it just disappeared one day... Im using im+ right now, which works well for the most part.

Yea i keep checking these forums to see if anybody has found a fix but man.. its not looking too hopefull. It did exactly that too, worked the first couple of days and then.. poof:/

Use Atomic Web Browser. That allows you to get facebook chat back. They took it off when you use Safari.

my sister bought an iPad the other day and called me asking why the facebook chat didn't work. hopefully there will be a fix for it so that I don't have to hear her whine about it for too long

Facebook is disabling apps that it claims violates its trademark. It disabled developer credentials, which are needed to allow an app to interface with Facebook. It's also requesting the apps be removed from the App Store. News.com reported on it here:

So Facebook thinks that Safari for iPad is an app? Because FB chat works in regular Safari just fine, and it also worked on iPad Safari for a couple of days. Hm.

i just use the facebook iPhone app since it has chat in it works great for me that way
