So on the FB app for iPhone, my life feed is littered with updates from bands, tv shows, and other crap that I don't care about, just because I have them listed on my profile. Doesn't happen on the FB website. Anyone know how to fix this?

Get rid of all the add on's, subscriptions and clean your facebook out. Delete/Block/Hide all the crap you don't want to see on your computer version and you wont see it on your iPhone version.
I use facebook for family and friends and do not have any of that garbage there. I use twitter for updating me and keeping me current on TV shows, concerts and all the other stuff. Follow all of those things on twitter, no one says you have to post comments in Twitter, just use it as a monitoring tool.
