When I got to Messenger in Facebook I get a msg that says Safari isn't supported. I'm on the current version. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Facebook Messenger is not working with Safari

I'm on the most current version of Safari. I am not going to take it as a sign as some people sent me a msg and I'm not able to see what they are communicating to me, thus I can't respond.
still unclear wether you run a beta or not - in any case: if you run your system in dark mode, turn that off and use FB in Safari.
