I've set my Facebook app to only notify me by mobile push if someone sends me a mesage. All the other boxes are unchecked. (Same with messenger too, I believe).

Yet if someone tags me in post, I get notified on my phone anyway, and get notified again if someone comments on that post.

Why is this, and can I turn it off?

push means that data is pushed to your phone the moment it is ready.

you need to use fetch or to shut off app's background data.

yes, that's what push means. And Facebooks supposedly offers me a choice of what kind of activity I want pushed to my mobile device. I've only checked messages, but other things are getting pushed as well. Why?
