Does anyone get these when someone sends you a message?

I have been getting them for everything else on Facebook. Wall posts, Status comments etc but when someone sends me a message on Facebook I don't seem to get a notification on iOS5.

I have checked and the notification for messages is turned on in the settings.

I've only had one fb notifications so far and it had nothing to do with me or anything I'd be remotely connected with

It was a check-in with 2 tagged people. Its so odd and the only thing that was sent to me so far...

I have the same issue, Facebook app doesn't push the New Message push notification.

What i did was i turned it off on the Settings menu and installed Facebook Messenger to which i get notifications from... At least some... lol

I've said this before, but fb notifications though the app just aren't consistent or reliable. Ive turned them all off and gone back to email notifications. There are a lot more granular controls for email, and since my mail is pushed to my phone anyway, it's just as instant as the app.

Thank you for bringing this up! I thought I was th eonly one! I get notifications from Facebook for everything else, but absolutely none when I receive a message. I've had to install the Facebook Messenger app just to get notified of new messages.

Facebook notifications have never worked for me or anyone else I know. It seems to be an all-or-nothing situation. Get them for every damn 'friend' and every post, photo, etc., or none at all.

I've turned off the icon badge since I was tired of staring at it all the time.

With the billions of dollars Facebook is supposedly worth, you'd think they could actually make their app work. If some 14 year old writing apps from his bedroom can, I don't see why Facebook can't... unless they just don't care (which is probably the case).

here's a new Sniglet for you all:

Facebroke (verb): Programming changes which result in breaking more prior functionality than what was added with the new features. Continued attempts at repair continue the trend of breaking more than was fixed.

This company is actually planning on coming out with a PHONE when they can't even get a single app stable? I feel sorry for anyone fooled into buying one.
