Facebook using Battery in Background

Since updating to iOS 9, Facebook has been chewing my battery like crazy (Down to 50% at a time during the day I'm normally at 90%). Looking at the battery history it shows Facebook using 40%, and having run 4.5 hours in the background. I have background app refresh turned off completely, and location services off for facebook, what else could be happening in the background?!? I have deleted and reinstalled facebook and no luck. ANYONE ELSE?!

You might just need to close the Facebook app when you are done using it instead of letting it run in the background, which unfortunately it has been known to do for some people sometimes. Or use another app like Facebook's Paper app, if not simply the Facebook web site through Safari or some other browser (which has most of Facebook app's features).

They seem to be overusing some backgrounding exceptions.
