Are you using the browser? Probably need to clear the cache / cookies via the browser settings.

Settings > Accounts if you want to remove it.

Facebook is _always_ running in the background and is a huge resource hog.

I won't use it. Shame to see it still being installed by OEM and can't be uninstalled (Samsung this us you).

They use Facebook so they obviously do not want to remove it.

The Facebook app can be disabled on my note 8. I do not setup Facebook under accounts but use it here and there via the app. When I am done I usually disable the app to help with battery drain. Facebook is a huge resource hog as mentioned. It uploads a ton of information about you every 90 seconds unless you disable or uninstall.

Use Facebook Lite instead of the original app. The regular Facebook app is a bloated malware.

Don't like bloat running 24/7 so I use the web version via Android Chrome browser.
