Doesn't it improve Face ID if you have an Apple Watch (or am I thinking of iOS 14.5)?
have not seen a difference on my 12 mini, but it was also excellent before.
I've definitely noticed a difference.
In fact, before the improvement I was quite unhappy with FaceID on my IPP, so I guess if yours was good beforehand, then you wouldn't really notice a difference.
My 12 Pro Max has always been good.
Not so, on my IPP.
However, as already stated, my IPP's FaceID is now much more accurate.
Been the same on my 11 inch IPP 2020. It requires my face to be nearer compares to my iPhone 12 mini.

it is definitely better, although I did not have major issues with it before, it typically worked majority of the time unless I was too far away, but now it just seems faster and working in a little more angles, could also be due to the fact that I added an Alternative appearance and put it in some weird angles to ensure it recognizes me in those weird angles lol.
Yes. Face ID has always worked fine for me, but it works even better and in more angles since I upgraded to iPadOS 14.4.
