FaceID not working on iPhone 16 Pro / iOS 18.1 beta

This morning, Face ID on my iPhone 16 Pro suddenly stopped working (I’m currently using iOS 18.1 beta). I tried every solution on the web, but nothing has worked for me.

Have you tried removing the beta and installing 18.0.1? That's the first thing Apple will have you do before they give you any assistance

have you made sure the glass over the camera is clean> I've had issues where stopped workijng but when I cleaned the glass it worked again

Yes, sure.

I'd leave it on 18.0.1 and take it to an Apple store to be assessed. If it's a hardware issue they'll repair or replace the phone

Likely a hardware issue. Store can test it or Apple can do a remote diagnostic via phone call or chat.

Unfortunately a friend brought it to me from the US.

Then you either need to find a reputable repair store in Morocco (but make sure they don't void your warranty), or have it replaced in the US. It's pretty sure that Face ID is defective.

Chat Apple; they can do a remote diagnosis but I’m confident that it will show a hardware failure.

I think it’s more of a hardware issue but no way of knowing with how secretive Apple is.

You can boot into your iPhone into Diagnostics Mode yourself to test Face ID (and other things). That should at least confirm if it's a hardware issue.
