My daughter called from college last night via Facetime. The call went to all 3 of my devices: iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. How do I keep that from happening? Before upgrade it would just go my iPad. What am I missing here?

It's always done this for me. If I get a call it goes to my macbook pro, my mac mini, my ipad and now that I have an iphone, it goes there as well. You have the same ID signed in at all of them this is how it is going to work....

And why wouldn't you want it to work this way? I never know what device/computer I am going to be near so I would rather they all ring (like old land lines). I would hate for it to ring on my iPad and I am in the basement in front of my mac mini....

You'd have to log in to all 3 devices with different Apple IDs. But then your daughter will have to guess which device you have at the moment and possibly end up calling all 3. Not worth the trouble.

Rather, I suggest going in to the notification settings on the iPod and the iPad and turning Facetime's notices to ONLY alert you in the notification tray and to not play any sounds or leave any reminder numbers on the app icon.

You probably always have your phone, right? So only it will ring, and then you have the option still answer it on the iPad if you wish. It'll let you do that even though it's not making a noise.

Or just get her to FaceTime to your iPhone number (rather than an Apple ID) if you want it to only ring on that.
