I've used FaceTime a couple of times now since updating my iMac (M1 2021) to Monterey, and after using it for about an hour on both occasions "callservicesd" was using lots of memory after I finished the call.

First occasion over 13GB, and about 10GB the second time, causing high memory pressure and lots of swap. Resolved with a restart.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Seems like the first stable 12.0.1 Monterey has many memory leaks huh? This and Control Center. Anybody tried 12.1 to see if it fixes it? I've heard a user said it fixes memory leak but idk I can't test it out . Haven't gotten my MBP

Yeah, I'm having this issue too. Seems to only happen with FaceTime. Keeps going up up to 13 GB +.

Thanks for replying - it is at least a help to know it's not just happening to me, or something I've done!

Annoying, but hopefully sorted soon. Though I am kicking myself for not waiting until at least a couple of updates before upgrading my system to a new macOS... (I fall for it nearly every time! 😏)

I'm not getting any memory leaks, but I have noticed high CPU usage by callservicesd since updating to Monterey, it's constantly using ~60% CPU and comes straight back if force quit.

Edit: I noticed Music was consistently using high CPU even when doing nothing, and so I quit it, and callservicesd immediately disappeared too... And relaunching Music brings callservicesd back to high CPU usage. How strange.

Reports on various Forums and now reported on some tech Media about Monterey memory leaks - no particular app, many seem to be afflicted. (Knock on wood) I've not (yet) had an issue on my 2017 Air, but now that's it's hitting the mainstream Media and not just comments from whiny Apple users, I suspect the Company will work to issue an update...sometime. Perhaps before 15.1.

Much like an update to allow 'older' applicable Mac users to install Monterey without bricking. 🙄

It looks like the cause of the problem has been found:

I seem to have resolved this (and other) issues with a clean install of Monterey...
