Hi I upgraded and now my FaceTime volume is low. Are there any fixes?

You don't by any chance have Boom installed? I had that and found it caused all kinds of issues with FaceTime.

I have the exact same issues with FaceTime in el capitan. Volume is just lower than crap and worse you can't do anything to up the volume. It's NOT the boom app causing this because I don't even have any audio enhancing apps installed from this clean install of el capitan. this happens on my 2013 15" mbp and my 2015 13" mbpr. There are many many forums topics on this dated back to mavericks with this issue. Nothing seems to fix it.

I tried a reinstall and reformat too and that was nothing but a waste of time.

It has been the general consensus that this was deemed a "feature" by Apple, rather than a bug. Hence why it hasn't been "fixed". Mainly so that people didn't have to fiddle with lowering volumes in other apps when on a call.

I still get feedback on occasion when using FaceTime on OS X. If the call goes on long enough there is nearly 100% chance of this feedback occurring. Its very frustrating with Apple having such a tight ecosystem and being forced to use 3rd party programs (Skype) for a satisfactory user experience.

I thought it might just be my Mac but I can get it to happen on 2 iMac's and a MacBook Air. I think it has something to do with the data connection, I feel that the worse the connection is the more likely it will start happening. Once it starts it won't stop until you disconnect and reconnect.
