Using FaceTime video on my iPad, why do I have no control over the volume once a call has commenced? Whether though AirPods, the speaker or regular wired headphones, the volume control does nothing.

This seems ridiculous - why can I not choose how loud I’m hearing the person on the other end?! I’ve checked with someone else and they said theirs behave the same, so I’m not assuming there’s anything broken as such. However, I can’t quite believe this is actually how they’ve designed FaceTime to work.

Can anyone enlighten me? is this right or am I imagining things?
