Hey all.
I've inherited an iPad at work, the ex-employee whos position I now fill, unfortunately had replaced our company log-in with their own email address and password.

There's no screen lock, so I can switch it on and access any screens, but can't obviously updated it as the iCloud email used isn't our standard company one, I've not got the apple id password or access to the email.

There's no sensitive data or anything that needs backed up from the ipad.

Is there any way to factory reset the ipad without the icloud id/password so that I can log in using my own id?

Thanks, I should have added that I already tried that route, but we moved to laptops a couple years ago so they don't support any of the old apple gear. This ones been lying in a drawer for some time. Software version is 8.4.1 if that gives any indication of its age

Without the company’s proof of purchase, it is unlikely you’ll be getting into the iPad. If you do have the proof of purchase, there is a process that can be followed to get the iPad released.

If there was a way do actually do what you're asking- anyone could steal iPad's / iPhone's and unlock them anytime.

Not to sound cynical but every few months there's the same type of story posted with someone trying to access a locked device.

Based on the iOS version, it’s pretty ancient hardware. Agree with putting it back in the drawer due to age and proof of purchase required.
