I just booted up my new MBA 11.6 with a 9CF2 display, and I noticed that the bottom of the screen has faint, but evident, horizontal lines. Moving an icon or a photo from the bottom to the top of the screen shows that the lines disappear. Did anyone else have the same problem with this specific display or other ones? Should I go for a replacement/refund?

Yes, my 11.6" (base model) had a display issue where there were horizontal lines across the entire display, almost like every other row of pixels was either too dark or too light. It was like looking out a window through blinds.

Unfortunately, though the Genius guy I saw agreed it was defective, I had purchased it at Best Buy and had to go to them to exchange it. That was a major hassle since I had to drive to 3 different stores to find one that actually had a replacement in stock. As an aside, Best Buys' inventory tracking system sucks! They never really know exactly what they actually have in stock.

But I did eventually get it swapped out and the replacement is perfect.

I had the whole display faint lines issue as well with my ultimate 11", but it turned out it's just from cold environments and went away. Saw it after unboxing, and then again when reviewing footage outside in the cold during a 48 hour film fest.

I don't think it's an actual issue, but if your laptop is in a warm environment and it's still happening, definitely an issue.

Thanks for the comments. The lines are definetely there, I have booked a Genius Bar appointment for Monday afternoon, if it persists I hope they will replace the screen (don't want to go through the whole replacement process which will take weeks). I also have distinctive buzzing noise from the left-most fan, I hope that can be taken care of too...
