Fair to say that the Ipad functionality will improve soon?

I've been reading here that some are disappointed with their new Ipad for whatever reason ( no file system, no flash, no camera...etc). Some even returned it right away!

The thing is only 2 months old and the update is a couple of months away that will address a lot of this- Not all, I know (flash, camera).

My question is, don't you think that it's fair to say that within a short period of time, after the developers have had it for awhile the whole thing will get better and most issues will be addressed.

Am I mistaken or is this bascially what we will see till V.2.

Either way it is an amazing jump forward.

It won't be iPad 2.0, it will be iPhone OS 4. But some people will never be happy. The iPad is never going to have a desktop-like OS. Some returned, but the overwhelming majority did not. Also hard to even verify that those that claimed they returned even owned an iPad or are just trolls.

You are correct, the iPad really is developer dependent. The iPad has had a great launch, but its now time for some killer apps to keep the big mo.

Yeah- I was talking to a buddy of mine and we were saying that there needs to be more Apps like Keynote, Pages, and Numbers.

More robust functioning program like apps that people can sink their teeth into, especially students.

I hope those apps are in the works already

The thing is there are already a number of apps out there that enable the iPad to do basically what a netbook does. I have Docs To Go and Goodreader installed. This allows me to view/edit files on my Dropbox/SugarSync accounts, which are both synced with my two laptops. I only need to use my Macbook for (i) doing more complex things on Word (like creating tables), (ii) viewing websites that don't render well or at all on the iPad, or (iii) videoconferencing. Both (i) and (iii) I am positive will be remedied in due course.

And I have been finding a few killer apps, It just depends what your into, and
from the looks of it theirs something for everybody.

I buy apps, rate, write reviews, request features, and report bugs.
I'm a damn Beta-Tester. lol.
I got a lot of devs off their a** that way, and seen improvement in apps.
Some of these devs have programing skills but no app direction. They just need a little feedback from the user in which direction to go.

I got a 24 Track Recording Studio on my iPad thanks to Multitrack and user feedback.

I may not be a fanboy but I know a good product when I see it.

I find the iPad to be extremely functional as it is right now, for me at least.

I use the calendar and address book synced with MobileMe to my desktop and iPhone.
I use Appigo's ToDo App for Tasks.
Currenly I am testing 2 Note/Diary apps, Daily Notes and Max Journal
Pocket Money keeps my finances in check
MobileNoter keeps things synced with Microsoft One Note
Documents to Go for the Excel and Word documents and editing
I have Pages, Numbers and Keynote to create new items.
iBooks, Kindle, Zinio and BN eReader for books, magazines
USA Today, ABC Player, The Weather Channel for News and Weather
the built in Video, ipod apps for when I want entertainment
Photos for sharing my photos
Safari for the internet
Mail for eMail

Hopefully in a few months the Apps will be showing the true practicality of the iPad.At the moment the Appstore for ipad seems a bit bare and the Apps that are there seem to be just larger versions of their iPhone counterparts.

This is why I'm also not worried that the magazines are priced at $4.99/each at the moment cause once they get the hang of it the cost will go down and become more than just a pdf version of it.

Patience is a virtue that's for sure

iPhone OS 4 should do some great things for the iPad in the fall. I for one cannot wait for it to be made available!
