This is my first post so forgive me if it comes out wrong.

For $69 I bought dreamweaver mx 2004 from a site claiming to sell oem software and of course (stupid me) it turned out to be a fake. The disk arrived (complete with serial number printed on the disk) - but I can't register the serial number on Adobe's site (surprise).

What should I do? I want to report it but how? Does anyone have experience of this kind of scam?

Bummer. Sorry to hear about that.

This is the right website for the UK and Ireland. Click on the link for illegal software sales. I don't think it'll help get your money back, but it will shut down the company who ripped you off.

How can you provide first rate software programs for that cheap?

All the software you can order from this site is OEM and DSP software.

In the majority of points DSP software is similar to OEM software.

OEM is an acronym for “Original Equipment Manufacturer”. Normally OEM software comes with brand new computers only. DSP (Delivery Service Partner) software is more generic than OEM. It is provided for system integrators for building the so-called “clone” or no-name computers.

The DSP software is absolutely identical to the software found in a full version retail box product. The difference is a printed manual and a box that come with a retail version. DSP software is usually distributed without a box and a printed manual included. As well as OEM, DSP versions often come with only an electronic help manual which is built into the software. Purchasing DSP software one get the full version of the program recorded on a CD-ROM disk and the serial number required for the installation of the program.

Since DSP software is typically sold to more advanced users, system builders and computer consultants there is no technical support provided by the software manufacturer. However, because of the substantial support savings to the manufacturer the DSP and OEM versions are offered for sale at a significantly lower price.

LOL!!!!:D
