Fake iPhone Dummy Unboxing Video

Exactly... I could see if this was the summer of 2007 or 2008 when a person with an iPhone walking down the street turned heads and incited envy... But nowadays when (metaphorically speaking) "everyone has one", I don't see a point. It's not as rare and expensive as it used to be.
 
I bought it so I can do stupid things with it like throw it into the street under busses, off my balcony, etc...

They were $19 with shipping so über cheap for the amount of fun I think I'll have with it :)


The website is gone - I ordered it the first day they were posted on some iPhone blog two weeks ago.

Here is an updated video showing the screen - I'm quite impressed with how good it looks. The only weak point is the logo on the back which kinda sucks.

i'm assuming you can only throw it off a balcony once before it just shatters? meh its your money...seems idiotic to me.

Yes, I don't really see his point. If you're going to troll the forums at least make it offensive, hate filled, or at least mildly racist.

Here are some tips:
-Perhaps make fun of me for wasting $20 on a fake iPhone I plan on destroying within the first hour of owning it
-My kitchen counter has a banana on it, maybe you could say something about that
-I sound like a muppet

Again these are just jumping off points.

Don't encourage a troll. He'll get banned real soon. Anyway, good luck with what you want to do with the fake iPhone. You're not going to get 5 bars of reception anyway. :D
 
LOL @ Scratching the screen. You should send it to Apple Care.

I wish you showed it turning on and some of it's function.

BTW .... $20 is a great price 
 
I think its classic, all your friends know you have an iPhone. You're at the bar, pull i out of pocket... fumble.... into mug-o-beer.... Friends laugh at you're ruined iPhone. However YOU have the last laugh! OR even better ask to use friends iPhone. Swap real for fake and something really bad happens! Imagine the look on his/her face! Get said reaction on film and it would be awesome.
To add back what I wrote which in no way violated any part of forum rules....

Be careful calling people names. I got a PM "warning" from annk because I "insulted" another member by calling them a tool. I don't really see how calling someone a troll is any different.... Guess the mods think differently. Kinda funny how they pick and choose which name calling is ok and which is not.
 
Take it to an apple store and say it wont turn on. see how long it takes them to realise its a dummy phone :p
You could do this at various places that repair iphones as well. Literally someone has to be stumped and say they'll fix it. Could be good for a laugh.

Yeah. Or something my kid can play with without touching my iPt. I never let him touch my 3GS. Not at all. My iPt is basically his throw around toy.. :eek:
 
I know when this can be handy. Say someone comes up to you with a knife saying "give me your phone!", just give them a fake one! You'll be long gone before they realise!
 
Go out to a restaurant/bar.

Ask someone who's playing with their iPhone if you can see it.

When they're not looking switch it with a dummy and when they look back say "Pfft, this is a crap phone!" then toss it across the room.

Agreed

Some of them are infutiatingly bad

Some 12 year old with a camera, out of focus, 10 minute video, the first 6 minutes consists of him talking about his trip to the store and going off track on another topic.

I think, JUST PLAN OR WRITE WHAT YOUR GOING TO SAY!!

Thats 10 minutes of my life i'll never get back. :mad:

Hehe anyhow, im sure you will have some fun pranks with your fake phone :)

Dummy phones are nice to have if they look right. Of course I'm referring to ones essentially real cases. I the iPhone's case it would need a real glass, back, etc. The ones that are undeniably fake like the one shown here is, in my unprofessional opinion, a waste of money.

And folks, please don't misuse the term "troll."
