Do these all do the same thing the same way?

Which one do people recommend? I've used FakeClockUp and Accelerate...curious what other people's experience is.

Good thread.

First and foremost, they are all free.

FakeClockUp - the pioneer, straight forward, 1x, 1.4x, 1.6x, etc. EDIT: 0.2-1 (the latest) on some unofficial repos requires respring every time to take effect. Get it from Novi's repo to have the same version number but the correct one that doesn't require respring. hitoriblog.com/apt is the repo

Accelerate - on BigBoss repo. clever names, like 'Ferrari' and 'Impusle Drive' (still no update to address that typo, really?), but has no icon in Settings and you can't tell in terms of actual speed improvement what corresponds with what exact multiplier like FakeClockUp.LUCKILY, advantage is you can disable speed up animations in certain situations like for icon wiggle when moving them (not perfect though, the icon you select to wiggle still wiggles quickly in a lot of speeds and animated gifs are still going at warp speed and animations in certain apps like Turntable, heads bob at a milion miles an hour)

%hookslaw- speeds up going between windows in a screen, opening and closing animations, but not everything (and nothing else really-- so animated gifs aren't cracked out nor icon wiggle, etc). Doesnt require respring either, the only downside is it requires a bit of trial and error to get a good setting going; there are a handful of variables to modify. The trickiest in that regard, but arguably the most rewarding. I've come to like the bouncy effect it has too.

I went in that order using them. FakeClockUp->Accelerate->%hookslaw (2nd time, its staying I believe)

FakeClockUp I think was first offered on a chinese repo known by few and blew up over time, Accelerate like a 13 year old or something (which is incredible, I wish I could write accelerate period), and %hookslaw is made by Chpwn your favorite Zephyr dev, Infini-dev, Gridlock, Facebook employee, generally awesome developer.

I just got Webscrollian too by him, NO MORE scrolling endlessly for long safari pages. So nice.

As soon as I saw this hit Cydia when they did that AWESOME daily tweak challenge I jumped on it. I have never uninstalled it since haha. For the few minutes I'm stock when I'm upgrading my firmware for a new jailbreak, I am always reminded how painfully slow scrolling is be default. The best part about WebScrollian is that its not limited to Safari. It works anywhere where there's a UI WebView which seems like on iOS is practically every single screen where there's scrolling lol. Obviously that's an overstatement but my point is, it works in TONS apps. One of my "must have" tweaks. It's always one of a few tweaks I recommend new jailbreakers because its extremely useful and not a niche tweak. It serves everyone well because scrolling speeds are way too slow by default!

On topic, I always used FakeClockUp. Strangely enough, the version I used, which was the newest, didn't require a respring. So I'm not sure where you get your copy but ill double check and find the newest version if you don't want to respring every time you make a change. I've never tried Accelerate but it's pretty impressive for such a young person to create. I tried %hooks law but I didn't like it and I thought it kind of interfered with Zephyr or Springtomize. Not sure which one but whenever I swiped up to expose the task switcher it would kind of glitch out on me. I don't use any of those 3 any more though. I enjoy the stock speeds and would rather not install an unnecessary tweak that I don't really need.

I've used all 3 & ended up with FakeClockUp which seems the most stable.
Accelerate was very nice, but I kept getting crashes & other weird behavior while using apps. Its absolutely mind blowing that this is written by a 13 yr old, but i also think it's the tweaks downfall, experience.....Uninstalled.

Then I tried %hooks law. I really wanted to like this tweak b/c of the reputation of the dev chpwn. Phenomenal developer. Very well implemented but there are some bugs & I was also getting some weird overall performance on my 4S. After I mentioned him on Twitter, he simply said %hooks law was an experiment, & if its causing issues.... Uninstall it. Which I did.
Since I've been on FakeClockUp, everything seems pretty stable. Kudos

How do you guys on FakeClockUp cope with everything else being sped up?

Weird, 0.2-1 on some repos that host it still say 'respring required' but the one from Novi's repo with the same version number does not.

Good to know! Still, i would think selectively checking off items to not speed up (with Accelerate if you're having bugs with hookslaw or finding yourself frustrated finding 'the right setting' to your tastes) would be preferable.

I could see isolated bugs being the deal breaker, however.

I've never had stability issues with any of the 3 apps, FWIW.

Is there some instructions on describing what each individual setting for hook's law does?

Does anyone have a decent setting setup that I could borrow? I keep getting it to jagged-like and can't find a good sweet spot.

i tried hook's law but it make the page flip animations in flipboard look weird. i'm going to give fakeclockup a try.

fakeclockup at 1.2x is perfect for me. Smooth and a touch faster, amkes a big difference. Coupled with Nitrous and Folder Enhancer, whole phone is very snappy.

fakeclockup has been the most stable one for me as well. %hookslaw is a great idea but it's not very user friendly and you don't get that smooth feeling. Rather an iphone on cocaine.

I like to use springtomize for this. It speeds up the animations quite nicely.

In my experience Springtomize doesn't speed up some of the same animations that the other tweaks mentioned do. For example the animation when you open or close an app. To me that sort of clashes with the nice job it does with speeding up other UI animations. I personally use fakeclockup and love it. My wife's iPhone feels rather sluggish now that I am used to the sped up animations. I tried %hookslaw and the springiness was annoying to me on some of the animations.

WebScrollian kills battery life on my iPhone 5. Had to uninstall it. Liked it a lot though.

No kidding? Wow I never heard that and I have it installed. I haven't experienced battery drain but I'm glad you mentioned it in case I ever do have drain I can try removing WebScrollian. Interesting.

Accelerate interferes with BTC Mouse and Trackpad. I've reported this to the BTC Mouse and Trackpad author and removed Accelerate since disabling it didn't fix the problem which was the pointer not being able to click on some icons, starting the wrong app, etc. I've gone back to fakeclockup.

I use this tweak and haven't noticed excessive drain either.

Yeah my battery went down fast. Stared at the battery icon and it went down by big chunks. Uninstalled WebScrollian and battery life went back to normal.

People say random pop-up ads show up when you install pirated tweaks but they're showing up after I installed FakeClockUp which is a free tweak.
