Apparently, Apple thinks they can bully their users/supporters, most of which have been with Apple before this whole iPod Halo effect.
Sigh.
If Apple sues FSJ, it would be AWFUL PR for them.

With what happened to ThinkSecret, and now seemingly FSJ, could this happen to MacRumors as well?
I'm pretty scared.

Apple is turning into Big Brother, the very person(s) they were rebeling against 30 years ago.

Apple is losing one of thier most valuable assets by shutting down sites like these. Without sites to talk about all things Apple, what cool is there left in Apple? They are really cutting the connection they have with the public. It's guys like us at MR that fuel the publicity of Apple products. Without us, Apple is nothing but a bunch of products you see in annoying commercials. "Nobody talks about how cool this product is. Why should I buy it?"

Someone needs to talk some sense into Apple execs and remind them of what truly made them successful.

I love MacRumours, but saying that it's responsible for Apple's publicity is going a little too far, surely?

If you are a student, or not worth very much, you can be as big an ass as you want -- since suing you for money will net the winner nothing but a big legal bill.

And if you do not live in California, you can likely get the case kicked out of that state, and force them to sue you where you live -- a real big pain for Apple to put a team of lawyers on a plane all the time.

Edit: the only time he has to worry, is when he finally loses and has to start following the judges instructions.

I don't think that Forbes owns the website. The guy owns the domain and is the sole poster - he just happens to work for Forbes. Otherwise Apple would be sueing (or be told to be sueing) Forbes.

Yeah... when he "came out" the purchase of the website by Forbes was kind of a big part of the whole thing. That said, this does actually go a bit "far". It becomes highly questionable as a parody, but then again, I don't think it was the first time. Moreover, he's implied inside information before, and publically commented on the "unmaskers", especially given that much of those interactions were "true". So, as parody, its a blurry MESS. If I knew it was a joke, at least I could laugh.

Now of course it could be RSJ that's lying and FSJ telling the truth but I doubt it. I love FSJ's blog but I think he's taken this one too far. This joke itself is potentially libelous.

Yea, I don't get it. Either it's funny or not. Either you enjoy it or not. If you don't then the next time you see a post like the lawsuit you skip it. Heck write to him and tell him the joke is no longer funny. If it's no longer entertaining, he'll devise something else.

And yes this is fake but it's like wrestling, more entertaining if you think it is real.
