If you had gone to their website on your own and clicked "Buy Now", you would have found out that it's only available as a CD or DVD direct from GraphSim. Or you could google "Falcon 4.0 Mac App Store" and you'd find the digital download.

Well, I DID visit their website and discovered that only DVDs are available...so thanks for the info about the Mac App Store; this is why I asked.

Calm down kids. The problem is solved.

Question. Has anybody played this game yet ? Is it difficult to learn all the controls or can you just start flying ?

The game has a 600 page manual that you need to read or you will be only able to just fly around without doing anything else. Its a very realistic simulation of the F-16C and thus simulates most of the weapon system, avionics and procedures of the real world aircraft.
Also, you cant really play it without a joystick, so you need to have one.

If this is the same game I played many years ago (MacOS9?), it took me 3 months just to get through the tutorial. You'll need a fancy joy stick (something like Saitek X52 with lots of buttons. I only flew 1 mission because although being very realistic was more work than I wanted to do in a game. For some unknown reason the Falcon in this simulator was damn hard to land. If you are looking for realism, I think this is as close as you'll get. :)

So is the game any good? I actuall bought it in 1999 but gave it to a friend to try bc I had too much schoolwork to do that week. He accidentally dropped it on the floor and rolled over it with his chair, breaking the disk two days after I bought it.

Never really had time to play it anyway, but wondering if it was decent?

As long has it has not been changed drastically since I played it (many years ago), it is the most realistic, steep learning curve, combat flight sim I have played. It's decent and difficult. ;)

The game has changed alot since the original Falcon 4.0 has been released in 1998. The company (Microprose) that had made the game closed and the community for many years continued to make 3rd party patches/EXEs/addon packs by updating and modifying the leaked source code.

Lead Pursuit a few years ago bought the IP and used many of the community updated to release the Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. Except for some minor graphic updates, the F16 systems have been updated in the game to simulate the real aircraft even more.

The F4 community though never really accepted the AF release and continued developing their own updates. Currently there are two developer groups, the Freefalcon team and the Benchmark Sims group. The BMS team has released a few weeks ago their new patch BMS 4.32 (only works in Windows) that has really pushed the game to a new level, simulating so good the aircraft systems and flight model, while updating the graphics, that is really a military worthy simulation. That comes with a price though, as for someone new to learn the sim now has to read more than 1000 pages of material, manuals and tutorials.
