okay so i've just downloaded a copy of fallout 2 for mac and when i click the icon it opens in full screen, but the actual gameplay screen or video before, only takes up 1/3rd of the screen and is in black and white.
none of the buttons work except for enter (takes to an options screen I THINK) and esc (which closes the game) no mouse buttons work either.
is there something wrong with the settings on my computer?
do i need an update or hack?
or is my copy of the game just really ****?

im not sure if you have downloaded a illegal version or a demo or something. but if its isnt working then just use appdelete to remove everything to do with the game and reinstall it. if after doing that it still doesnt work then try updating it or install a patch or something.

how do you get to app delete?
ive deleted all the fallout 2 files from my applications folder and then i copy & paste them back in to the applications folder but the same thing keeps happening. 1/3rd screen, black and white, unresponsive keys.
:(:(

1) Here's a free app-delete program: AppCleaner.

2) You didn't say which Mac you are using. If it's a MacBook with the Intel GMA X3100 Integrated Graphics, pretty much SOL for now. It's been discussed at length here and here. Briefly, Apple has removed the 256-colour (8-bit colour) mode that Fallout 1 & 2 depends on.

I feel your pain, so here is a shoulder to cry on.

BTW: I'm working on getting NFS: CARBON for my Mini, will it work or should I stop all attempts in getting it? I'm not 100% sure on my vid graphics, I downloaded the DEMO of Tomb Raider for the mac couple of months back and it worked, of course I had to set my monitor settings accordingly, but I didn't have to worry about a graphics card, will I need the same shoulder to cry on or will I be ok?!
