Fallout 3 on VMWare Fusion

I've got legitimate copies of all the things necessary for this, VMWare Fusion 2 (with the most recent updates), Windows XP Professional SP2 and Fallout 3. However, once I've installed the game on my virtual machine and run the game it only works for about 10 seconds after I try to make a new game. I thought about maybe getting a friend to send me a save file of the game already started, but I tried when I tried to transfer my save files for Oblivion to a different computer that didn't work. So, I was just wondering if there's a patch, an extra set of drivers or some specification I need to make in any of these things categories. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot!

By the way, I have an iMac with a 2.8GHz Extreme Intel Mac with 2GBs of Ram, tons of space and a ATI Radeon HD 2600 graphics card. I've also set up my virtual machine in Fusion so that it can optimize 1.5GB's of my RAM and 2 CPU's, so I don't believe processing power is a problem. Thanks again.

Do it via Boot Camp.

GD. I am so sick of everyone on this forum saying Boot Camp it. Can we make a new rule. If you aren't going to answer the question dont say anything? I am not yelling at you but its so frustrating. Some of us HATE dual booting for gaming and like try hack/try other things. Bootcamp is not a be all end all.

Can you give any solution to improve the gaming situation in a virtual machine short of the developer having complete access to give the virtual machine full hardware acceleration and support?

This isn't the first thread about gaming in a virtual machine.

I agree with palebluedot here, I mean, I can use Boot Camp if necessary. But I really hate having to turn my comp off, and then Boot into Windows if there's an easier way. I mean there ARE worse things in the world, but I'm just looking for a simpler way than using Boot Camp. If it's the only way I can play Fallout 3, then so be it.

Sadly at this time Boot Camp is the best way to play Fallout 3 and other more recent games. I understand that rebooting can be an annoyance for some users but for gaming it's the best if not only option.

Well, the other option is buy a PC just for gaming. Or buy a console for gaming. Otherwise you're just going to have to live with booting directly to Windows with boot camp. I have some games that work in Crossover Games and maybe one or two that I can actually play in a virtual machine. However, anything recent (Mass Effect, Fallout 3 are my most recent) require me to boot to Windows. I knew this when I bought the games, so it doesn't bother me all that much.
