My girlfriend just bought herself the posh collectors edition of Fallout 3 for PC, but it's one of them nasty Securom games and she's having problems installing it. It can't install Securom because it detects CD-R software... Do they (securom chaps) expect people to remove this to play their games?

Is there a way around this, other than the obvious *cofcofwinkwink* methods?

I believe you can run the setup.exe on the CD instead of letting it autorun or running the launcher. Securom is in the Launcher.

Huh?

I was pretty sure that Fallout 3 only had a DVD-ROM check, not any of the nasty SecuROM stuff that games from EA typically use.

Apparently it wants to install some Securom thing, but she went ahead and installed it anyways. It needed some patch to work even with CD-R software on the PC, or something.
