It's a good concept. Obviously privacy is an issue but I think adults have a right to know where their children are. If an adult uses it responsible, i.e. not to spy but to be used when they cannot reach a child, then it is a very good tool that should probably save a lot of dangerous situations from happening and maybe even lives.

Mr. Grammar... it should have gone: "uses it responsibly,"

Back to topic, though, I feel the same way, good for children, etc... but not for wives, husbands, boyfriends or girlfriends. I hope it doesn't lead to any violence.

I read somewhere that the person who has the phone that's being tracked knows they are being tracked because the phone is constantly reminding the user. So, if that's true and everyone is agreeable to that then I can't see anything wrong with it.

The website states that initially one text is sent when you first set it up, but yes, it also sends reminder messages approximately once a month.

Police departments can (and have been able to for awhile) contact cell phone companies and ask for the location of cell phones during emergencies.

As with everything, it depends on how it is used. I think it could be very useful especially for monitoring children. I wouldn't mind my wife tracking me, but I can see how some might be bothered by it. To me it seems like a good way to avoid the "I thought maybe you were dead in a ditch" conversations.

I have used it, to track my kids! It works about 30% of the time! Never, gets within 2 miles, of there actual location.. Guess, at least I could tell what town they were in! I canceled! The cost was not worth the benefit!

$9.99 a month!? That's ridiculous. For that much you could just get a mobileme membership and use the find my iphone service along with all the other benefits of a mobileme membership.

Plus, kids wouldn't get a message on their phone when their parents are tracking their every move.... ;)

Seems like it could be great for kids, but the monthly fee is outrageous.

AT&T needs to stop charging for these types of services, and use them to differentiate themselves from the competition.

The $9.99 for the AT&T Navigator Service is probably worse. You pay the monthly fee in order to use their atrocious GPS app that currently has 1457 1 star ratings out of 2891 total ratings in the app store. Who is dumb enough to use this crap?

Wow... all you really had to say about the guys post was how you didn't like his grammar? Get a life ffs.

I like the idea of being able to track a phone but the extra $$ each month is a joke.... There are other less expensive options out there.
